What a good subtitle does
Most subtitles online are machine output that nobody watched. Ours get read, timed and argued over by someone who knows both languages and loves the film.

Arrives on time, leaves on time
Synced to a specific release, respectful of shot changes, and never faster than you can comfortably read.

Keeps the voice
A village elder, a swaggering hero and a quiet villain shouldn’t sound alike. Register, respect and menace survive translation.

Lets songs be songs
Lyrics are translated for meaning and rhythm rather than word for word, so a chorus still feels like a chorus.

Gets the joke
Wordplay and local humour are replaced with something that lands the same way in English, not explained in a footnote.

Knows the culture
Honorifics, kinship terms, food and mythology are kept, adapted or glossed deliberately, never by accident.

AI can help with a first draft. It can’t tell you whether a line is funny, whether a pause matters, or what a mother’s tone means in that scene. Contributors can use whatever tools they like, but they disclose them and stand behind every line. Each subtitle carries its translator’s notes and is reviewed before it’s published.

First release
RRR
The first entry in the library is a careful English subtitle for S. S. Rajamouli’s RRR (2022), synced to a named release, reviewed line by line, and published with notes on the songs, the speech and the choices behind them. It sets the bar for everything after it.

Upload against a specific release, add your translator’s notes, pass the checks, and a reviewer signs off. Every revision is kept.
